Maseno University is set to reopen next week after the indefinite closure three weeks ago following students unrest.

This was agreed upon during a senate meeting early on Wednesday at Siriba Campus. The students will, however, report back to school at different intervals.

First and fourth years are expected to report on November 9 while second and third years will report on the 16th of the same month.

It is, however, a blow to the students as they are all expected to pay an additional Sh3,000 each to cater for the damages caused during the unrest.

All students are also expected to clear their fee balances in full before reporting back to school.

In a notice pinned on notice boards by the varsity's public relations office, the students' elections are expected to be held on November 18 two days after the last lot has reported.

Students are already crying foul over the Sh3,000 imposed on them on social media with some are pointing an accusing finger at the administration saying it is punishing them for a crime they did not commit.
