Maseno University Aids Control Unit (ACU) in partnership with Kenya Medical and Education Trust (KMET) will conduct a three-day integrated health drive in Kisumu City Campus from Wednesday.

During the health drive, the team will offer HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC), family planning services, cervical cancer screening, STI Testing, sexual reproductive health information and health education.

The exercise will be conducted at city campus parking bay which is adjacent to Varsity Plaza next to Kisumu Hotel.

The core objective of the health drive is to help tract data on HIV and Aids among the youth, adults and sexually active individuals.

The exercise which will kick off at exactly 9am, also aims at providing voluntary male circumcision and the distribution of male and female condoms.

According to Maseno University Aids Control Unit Coordinator, KMET wants to tract HIV data so that they can be able to link the affected to sources of medication.

“KMET needs to keep data of HIV infections among the people so that we can link those who are infected to sources of medication,” said Olympia Okal, the coordinator.

They will also use that chance to pass crucial information on healthy living to the people of Kisumu as well as the students.

To ensure the spread of information to the surrounding community, the partners will provide reading materials on rape, drugs and substance abuse, sexual abstinence, contraceptives, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and healthy living.
